As expected the Requiem Mass for Fr Lawrence Jones at St Mary`s Cathedral Newcastle was moving and uplifting. Fr Michael McCoy preached a wonderful homily which you can hear here. It helps if you knew Lawrence but if not it is still well worth a listen. Requiescat in pace.

ReplyDeleteDavid, I agree. It certainly looks more dignified and impressive than the modes of attire I have seen over the years. For example: wearing rugby shirts into the confessional; wearing t-shirts and shorts while placing the monstrance on to the altar for exposition, and wearing washed-out blue jeans to Sunday lunch after Mass,
