Merry Christmas

`Out of love for us, he took upon himself our human condition, our fragility, our vulnerability and he opened up for us the path that leads to the fullness of life to a share in the life of God himself.
As we ponder this great mystery in our hearts this Christmas, let us give thanks to God for his goodness to us and let us joyfully proclaim to those around us the good news that God offers us freedom from whatever weighs us down: he gives us hope, he brings us life.`

Pope Benedict XVI on Thought for the Day 24.12.10

Christmas novena to the Infant King

Sorry this is a day late but I`ve been so busy I forgot to post it earlier. I received this info about the Novena organised by the Institute of Christ the King.

Join us this Holy Advent season as we embark on a spiritual pilgrimage to Bethlehem through the novena to the Infant King. As we prepare for the coming of Our Savior, let us meditate upon His Holy birth, God’s giving of His Only Son, and how we can pay homage and adoration to our Earthly and Heavenly King. With this in mind, please join us at the Shrine of Christ the King and participate in the monthly novena from December 17th to December 25thThe Christ Child has promised us: “The more you honor Me, the more I will bless you!”
“And entering into the house, they found the child with Mary his mother, and falling down they adored him; and opening their treasures, they offered him gifts; gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”- Matthew2:11
The Three Wise Men and Shepherds brought gifts to the Child Jesus at His birth… What gift will YOU bring Him? This Christmas season, be sure to offer the Infant King your prayers and present Him with a candle or a flower as a visible symbol of your love, devotion and thanksgiving.
Ø  Submit your prayer offerings online and have your intentions remembered along with those of others throughout the world on or before December 16th.
Ø  Offer thanks by presenting an Ex Voto message of Thanksgiving to the Infant King. Through this ancient tradition, read stories from people who have received God’s graces through the novena to the Infant King.
Ø  Read our monthly meditation which will provide you with spiritual insight to grow step by step in the virtues of the Christ Child. December’s meditation is on the Spiritual Poverty: Key to Heavenly Riches.
