The Blog re-awakens
Well the days are getting longer, the sun has been seen for three consecutive days and so it is time to come out of hibernation. I had thought I`d not wake up until after the next conclave but there`s too much to do. So here we go.
Welcome back, Father. I wonder if you might spend some time focusing on the Ash Wednesday events in the Diocese? Pulpit swapping bishops and taking the ashes into the streets. As far as I knew, lay people weren't allowed to give a 'sermon' at Mass, I'm just wondering how it was possible for HL Bishop Seamus to allow this to happen?
Well I thought the Reach Out at the cathedral which sounded like what happend at St Pattrick`s, Soho, was a good idea. As for offfering ashes to passers-by I was quite surprised that it is still legal to do so although I supppose the pommotion of eligion does stil go on on street corners with the Hare Krishnas and Jehovah Witnesses. As for pulpits refer to canons 766 and 767 and art. 3 of 1997 Instruction On Certain Questions Regarding The Collaboration Of The Non-Ordained Faithful In The Sacred Ministry Of Priest
I hope you are lining up your supporters and backers in readiness for the next Conclave. We could do with an English Pope - it has been a long time.
